Intro...
The Birmingham Hospitals Choir, under the baton of John Warren, performed its first Christmas Carol Concert at Central Hall, Corporation Street in Birmingham in 1982 raising funds for the Malcolm Sargent Cancer Fund for Children.
Since then, much has changed...
We now call ourselves The Midlands Hospitals' Choir. Conducted by David Lawrence (Artistic Director), Nigel Morley (Summer Conductor) and Julian Wilkins (2007 Winter Conductor), we perform our ever popular Christmas Carol Concert at The Symphony Hall, Birmingham. The charity we support has now become CLIC Sargent, the UKs biggest children's cancer charity, and an annual Summer Concert is now a regular event, sometimes touring abroad.
But the choir now, as then, is mostly drawn from the many hospitals, clinics, health centres and every variety of health carer in the Midlands
We always welcome new members of all voices. Previous experience is not necessary, indeed many members have started choral singing through the wonderful time spent with us. Tour our website and if you think you might like to join us, click on Registration. We look forward to hearing from you.
